Ignited’s Story

Pulling behind the curtain, you'll find this operation is a one-woman show run by me, music photographer Maggie Graff!

I’ve always known I’d find both personal and professional fulfillment within the music industry, but it took getting behind a camera at a concert for me to find my angle in. Mainly self-taught, in the beginning, I’d go to venues that allowed cameras, shoot musicians’ sets, give them my business sticker, and send them a link to photos the next day for them to use. This led to paid work and authentic relationships with both the bands and other industry individuals. But my biggest takeaway: understanding the local industry’s unsolved needs, like that of a centralized community resource accessible to all involved in the Charlottesville/Richmond industry.

Ignited has been my cherished labor of love to ultimately accomplish the tall order that is giving back to a community that has given me so much. Whatever your involvement is in music in Cville/RVA, I hope you find what you’re looking for in this industry. I hope Ignited can help you along the way.
